Dave
Cheng
LONG GRAIN RICE Guitar,
Percussion
Having studied everything from Scofield to Slayer, Prince to Pat Metheny, Dave
has established himself as a versatile and exacting session player. His iPod playlists
read like the rubble left behind after you bomb a Virgin Records store. Outside of his
music, Dave is an accomplished photojournalist and a high school teacher.

Chow
RICE CRISPIER Bass,
Voice
Known widely for his improvisational skills, Fergus
is one of the most sought after musicians in town.
Having played for a number of different artists
as a pianist, guitarist, beat boxer, vocalist and
bassist, he has performed with such noted artists
Hong Kong super singer, Teresa Carpio; Juno-nominated
group,ORA; Blacklisted’s 360, and Groove Essential’s
Kuya.

Keith Javier
STICKY RICE Lead
Voice, Percussion
Influenced by both the contemporary and classic
singers of soul and jazz, Keith has already lent
his vocal stylistics to four independent CD releases,
ranging in genres from ballads to gospel. His live
performances include Brownscene Magazine’s "Scenestealers"
at the Now Lounge, the Toronto Int’l Dragon Boat
Race Festival, Rancho Relaxo, and Una Mas.

Ng
BAKED RICE Drums
Primarily a rock, alternative, and hip hop drummer,
Nelson's energy brings the voltage at his performances
to a new level. Looking up to Buddy Rich as the
ultimate jazz drummer, he works hard on building
rhythmic intricacy. He also trains in piano, is
proficient with most brass instruments, and plays
guitar casually.

Sunga
RICE NOODLE Keys,
Voice
As a confident songwriter, jP (John Paul Sunga)
has worked with a number of Canadian artists over
the past 5 years. As a full-rounded music artist,
jP is also a singer, producer/arranger, and musician.
To date, jP has written and collaborated on over
50 songs. jP continues to explore various dimensions
of music. His style results from a fusion of different
genres; everything from acid-jazz/funk to alt/rock
to R&B/soul.

N. Uy
RICE FLOWER Lead
Voice, Percussion
With powerhouse vocals, this standout vocalist has
the unique ability to interpret classical works
of Opera, to glisten through the honey notes of Soul, and move you to a thumpin' and bumpin'
frenzy with House and Acid Jazz. Jennifer appears on the following albums: Musiquest 2001 [Fairchild Radio], ENCANTADA [Lilac Cana], and Distances [Rodney Ronquillo]. Where have
you seen her perform? Maria Callas Opera Grand Prix (Athens,
Greece), Skydome, Kingswood Music Theatre, Lovesexxy, Una Mas, Toronto Operetta Theatre, TIDBRF, Rancho Relaxo,

Glen Nerona
RICE CAKE Keys,
Rhodes
Mainly tickling the ivories of a piano, Glen’s musical influences
come from jazz, soul, funk, world music and classical. Glen has also
applied his talents to band and orchestral experiences with the St.
Elizabeth Concert and Jazz Bands, the Thornhill Community Band, the
North York Symphony and the Phillipine Heritage Band. With friend and
saxophonist, Allan de Lara, they formed MELODIOUS VIBES - a band that
expresses their musical abilities and diverse influences.

Dj Awristoscratch
UNCLE BEN Turntablism
Accomplished DJ/Producer and aspiring musician, Darryl Fernandez, aka DJ
Awristoscratch, brings the hip-hop/urban element to the collective. Awristoscratch
is a member of The Nextraterrestrials - a hip hop crew spanning across 4 cities in
canada, consisting of some of the country`s best undergound emcees and tablists -
and can be heard every Tuesday night and Wednesday morning from 4AM-5:30AM EST (1AM-2:30AM PST)
on CKLN 88.1 in Toronto.

SUSHI RICE Voice
As a talented music artist, Will has gained praise from many for his outstanding
vocal ability and original compositions. In 2000, Will released his own self-titled

Allan De Lara
FLY RICE Saxophone
Founding member of MELODIOUS VIBES, Allan has
performed for Brownscene Magazine, Mood Indigo live jazz nights and the
Toronto Beaches Jazz Festival, to name a few. To date, Allan has released
his own CD entitled "In The Pocket" (2000) and produced "Our Christmas Wish",
a Christmas charity show that benefited The Childrens Wish Foundation of Canada.
